Below is "Upwaters", the front of the 'Up-Stream', waterfall at the 'up-road' end of the "Den". This is a mid-summer picture. The water level can get low in late summer & fall, before the rains start. After a heavy winter storm the river can raise 12 to 20 feet in just a few hours. To the left is what the Den's gold looks like. It is much more course then the extremely fine beach gold on the south Oregon coast. The 'handsome', good looking, fellow panning in the creek is me, It was in the year of '96.
